It is that time of year again, Virginia Craft Beer Month. Every local brewery from Bristol to Lucketts will be celebrating in one way or another, beer specials, beer releases and so on along with biggest beerfest, The Virginia Craft Brewersfest. This year VCBM is extra special for Virginia beer bloggers like myself though. What I mean by that is the annual Beer Bloggers and Writers Conference will be held in Loudoun County. This will be my conference and I'm not quite sure what to expect. I have read some other seasoned bloggers on how to survive your first conference. It appears there is a lot of drinking going on.(who would have guessed?)
From other things I have read there will be group sessions on the beer industry and blog specific topics. The Keynote speaker this year is Sam Calagione from Dogfish Head Brewery out of Delaware. That should be interesting. Then there is the expo and some post event excursions to different breweries. I believe most if not all 24 Loudoun County breweries will have some sort of presence and I'm hoping there will be more than that. Honestly if there is list I haven't checked it out yet.
I am genuinely excited to go this year and look forward to all there is to offer. I probably most looking forward to networking with other bloggers, ones that I have talked to online in different forums and some that I haven't met in any way yet. I hope this conference helps me become a better blogger and improve the quantity and quality of my content.
I will be back next week with more BBQ and I have some Virginia Craft beer to talk about. Hopefully my liver will survive this weekend. The good thing about Loudoun, there is plenty of BBQ to eat too. Until next week Drink Up and Eat Well.
